Unusual but surprising good.
They have a lovely menu of freshly cooked items. They do have hot sauce for their omelets and enchiladas. I can not recall seeing chicken strips on the menu but this place is worth a shot to try.
Patriarch of family and owner died.
Lakewood staple. Breakfast or lunch. Favorites are breakfast tostadas, John Wayne and THE BURGER! Warning this is not some shishi froufrou trendy $10 espresso frappe spot. There are NOT bottomless mimosas. Fresh hot coffe, great service and the fluffiest pancakes!
Best kept secret around! Got the tip from personnel @ Trader Joe's for best value & good food. Service staff most friendly & kind. If in the area, the place to go!
Great local diner, good food, good service, lots of locals eat here. Generous portions and terrific coffee.
Amazing place! Grat food, atmosphere, and prices. I love this place!
I love their..crispy warm baked Belgian waffles with a side of whip creme a lil..butter and syrup..so good. Last time I went on my birthday/Valentine's an they decorated my waffle for fun. Luv luv loved..it. after feeling like u need gold up in ur hills..hungry for all day breakfast gold rush is perfect!!
Classic traditional breakfast and lunch. Great place to go for a bite to get away from the hectic crowd in the rest of neighborhood. Awesome old schools diner vibe, but the seats go quick so get there early! Love the John Wayne!
We went back.. it was great. Food and service. Nice come back.
Delightful. Perfect diner breakfast experience. Eggs perfect. Toast perfect. But most of all , pattymelt perfect.
Home cookin' done right with a great sense of humor!!
Cute little cafe for breakfast or lunch and the staff is so friendly.
Amazing food! Great prices!
Great food and service!
Has the chicken fried steak. It was delicious. The side salad with blue cheese...not so much. The onion rings remind me of Arby's onion rings. Staff was friendly, however, they could bus their tables better.
Breakfast and lunch at good prices with neighborhood vibe.
Super affordable and tastes like your grandma made it!
Cozy establishment that's a great place for a small family breakfast. The food was great; omelet was tasty and the pancakes thin and flavorful. Their coffee is also pretty good. Overall a great place to enjoy breakfast, just make sure to get there early! They fill up quickly.
Awesome place to go for brunch. Hidden in the middle of a shopping strip. Great service and great food. Didnt get the name of our server, but she we was awesome.
A classic breakfast diner experience, from the decor to the food! I had the John Wayne, which has two eggs your way with cheese and hashbrowns over a flour tortilla. Great food, better prices make this a must for breakfast in Dallas!
Your website states that you're open on Sunday but you're not. When calling you afford your clientele no ability to leave a message.Brought up a large group on Sunday but no one was there to serve them.Obviously you've lost a long-standing customer for good.Communication, communication, communication.
Good breakfast
I love this place! I was gonna do a steak joke but they're never well done! Also, vote for Gabe Whitaker!
Love Goldrush.....my Mimi takes me here anytime I'm in Dallas for a visit.
Still one of the best chicken fried steaks in Dallas.
Such a good place for breakfast or lunch great service and good food absolutely live this place I come very often and always get my food maybe within 10 or 15 mins of ordering I’ve never had a problem.
Very nice people, felt like a small town kind of diner. Food was good and customer service was fantastic.
I have been dining at this establishment for 20+ years. It is like eating with family because that is what the Goldrush is. A place where we gather with neighbors & loved ones. To top it off the food is terrific! Viva Goldrush~
Goldrush Cafe delivers an old school atmosphere of a small town diner. The people are friendly and the food is affordable. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich and it tastes delicious. The place is always packed during lunchtime so seating will be difficult to find. Also, the bathroom is clean. I love the environment and I will definitely be returning!
This was my favorite place to eat in Dallas. We ate there for over 23 years when we still lived in Dallas. I believe this is the place that I miss the most. It was so much fun and we always felt like family there. Conversations were lively, the food was great and I totally miss my Charlupas!" I still haven't been able to perfect those at home. I also miss the great hamburgers!
Came for breakfast and the food was good. It's a tiny place with alot of nicknacks.
Great atmosphere, awesome prices and delicious food.
Amazing restaurant! Such a pleasant sceneary and amazing food. I totally recommend!
It was a great experience. Wonderful dinner/cafe style food. Prices are unbelievably low for how amazing the eats are
Loved it. True country Breakfast! Hit the spot!
small local diner with consistent food quality (I love it) and great customer service. it's a small space so there may be a wait sometimes but for the food and price it's a solid local breakfast. nothing fancy like all the new brunch places just solid breakfast, lunch and dinner foods.
Great comfort food. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend
Great classic country cooking. Breakfast platter is plenty of food. The chicken fried steak is my favorite around town. Highly recommend it for breakfast or dinner. The biscuits & gravy are kinda eh, but everything else including the awesome, friendly staff are well worth the price.
A new found breakfast favorite! The absolute best chorizo!
It was great, the staff was super friendly and had spot on service! Absolutely delicious.
This place has been a staple cafe in Lakewood for many years. I love coming in here for breakfast. It's simple good tasting food at an affordable price and filled with people from the neighborhood everyday. I would reccomend gold rush cafe to anyone looking for that neighborhood cafe feel.
Are you kidding me? This place is the best. Enchiladas and eggs or John Wayne. Always. Simple food that you'll crave randomly. That's how good it is!
A favorite among esteemed E Dallas Elders. Surprisingly creative menu including vegan & vegetarian options (just ask), good diner coffee, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere among the loitering retirees. I would visit to soak up the wisdom alone!
I love this place; the John Wayne is my favorite breakfast item.
We meet our son there’s every week for breakfast. It’s great!
Prices are proportional to portions. The service was prompt & friendly. The food was good.
There is always a line out the door here but it is always worth it! Very few places I will sit and wait but this place is one of them! I only hope they will open up a bigger location one day. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The absolute best, always!
Went midmorning on a Wednesday and got seated right away. I was pleased to be able to get chicken fried steak before 10.
Great place for a quick bite or just hang out for a bit. Must try the chicken-fried-steak enchiladas. Never know who might walk through the door.
Read so many of the reviews of how awesome this place was. After eating there my opinion is, it is nothing over the top. The food was good, had a western omlette, hash browns and biscuits/gravy. Not saying I won't go back but will not make special trip over.
Excellent spot for tasty cafe food. nice place to think about business. the service here is outstanding. prices are reasonable i would say. i see why this place has so many great reviews.
